Entertaining Chandler’s Ford and the surrounding area since 1965

About us

Founded in 1965, Chameleon Theatre Company is a small amateur dramatics society based in Chandler's Ford. We perform and rehearse at The Ritchie Memorial Hall; a community hall by day which transforms into a 100 seat theatre at night.

Chameleons stage four productions a year, which can be up to seven plays. We are well known for our annual pantomime which brings in a lot of mayhem and laughs every January. We also put on a wide variety of comedies and dramas throughout the year. In recent years we have put on dramas such as the hard-hitting ‘All My Sons’ by Arthur Miller; comedies such as the hilarious ‘The Ladykillers’; dramatisations of books such as Bram Stoker's ‘Dracula’; and staged well-known television comedies such as ‘Fawlty Towers’ and ‘The Vicar of Dibley’.  On top of that Chameleons also take part in the All England Theatre Festival at Hangar Farm in Totton.

Chameleons pride themselves on producing professional quality shows. Our members have won awards for their acting and productions at a number of  theatre festivals.

We also have a licensed bar at every show and a friendly team at Front of House to greet you as you arrive.

If you have any questions about the company, any forthcoming productions, or just a general enquiry please contact us.

Chameleons are a friendly, diverse group. We have members of all ages. Even if you're a complete novice or theatre aficionado you are more than welcome to join in.

Theatre isn't all about acting, there are plenty of other things to get involved in, such as sound and lighting, backstage, props, costume and make-up, front of house, and even helping out on the bar.

We meet and rehearse every Tuesday evening at the Ritchie Memorial Hall in Chandler's Ford. We have regular social events and usually pop to the local pub after rehearsals.

How much does membership cost?  Currently membership is just £40 per year, We sometimes offer a first production (3 months) fee of £15 which must be upgraded to the full annual fee if membership continues.

If you're interested in joining, or just want some more information please email us. We look forward to hearing from you.

Chameleons isn't just for the grown-ups.

Chameleon Juniors play an important part in our pantomimes. There's lots of singing, some dancing, and maybe the occassional speaking part.

All of our juniors have said they really enjoy being in our pantos. See below for some things our juniors say.
