Entertaining Chandler's Ford and the surrounding area since 1965
Covid update ...
Because of the current state of uncertainty surrounding coronavirus and any restrictions, The Chameleon Theatre Company have made the decision to postpone The Dragon of Wantley, The Pantomime, until April 2022.
If you have booked tickets for the show you don't need to do anything; your tickets will be transferred to the corresponding performance in April. If you are unable to make the new performance date then you can either receive a refund or transfer to a different performance. Our box office manager has emailed those who bought tickets for the January performances. If you have not heardd from them please get in touch. Many thanks for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you in April.

Founded in 1965, Chameleon Theatre Company is a small amateur dramatics society based in Chandler's Ford. We perform and rehearse at The Ritchie Memorial Hall; a community hall by day which transforms into a 100-seat theatre at night.
Chameleons stage four productions a year, which can be up to seven plays. We are well known for our annual pantomime which brings in a lot of mayhem and laughs every January. We also put on a wide variety of comedies and dramas throughout the year. In recent years we have put on dramas such as the hard-hitting All My Sons by Arthur Miller, comedies such as the hilarious The Ladykillers, dramatisations of books such as Bram Stoker's Dracula, and staged well-known television commedies such as Fawlty Towers and The Vicar of Dibley. On top of that Chameleons also take part in the All England Theatre Festival every year at Hangar Farm in Totton.
Chameleons pride themselves on producing professional-quality shows. Our members have won awards for their acting and productions. Most recently mother-daughter duo Lisa & Marilyn Dunbar won joint Best Actress for their performance in Effie's Burning. We also have a licensed bar at every show and a friendly team at Front of House to greet you as you arrive.
If you have any questions about the company, any forthcoming productions, or just a general enquiry please send us an email.
We look forward to seeing you very soon.
Every year Chameleons donate some of the proceeds from our raffle to a charity nominated by the company. At the end of 2019 we chose Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. We have decided to continue supporting this charity this year because of the pandemic.
Do you fancy taking part in cracking comedies, daring dramas, and priceless pantos? We are always on the lookout for new members.
Chameleons are a friendly, diverse group. We have members of all ages. Even if you're a complete novice or theatre aficionado you are more than welcome to join in.
Theatre isn't all about acting, there are plenty of other things to get involved in, such as sound and lighting, backstage, props, costume and make-up, front of house, and even helping out on the bar.
We meet and rehearse every Tuesday evening at the Ritchie Hall in Chandler's Ford. We have regular social events and usually pop to the local pub after rehearsals.
If you're interested in joining, or just want some more information please send us an email. We look forward to hearing from you.
Chameleons isn't just for the grown-ups.
Chameleon Juniors play an important part in our pantomimes. There's lots of singing, some dancing, and maybe the occassional speaking part.
All of our juniors have said they really enjoy being in our pantos. See below for some things our juniors say.
'I love being in Chameleons because ever since my first show I have felt like part of the family. We all have a passion for acting and providing a quality performance, and we still have a laugh during rehearsals. I have met some of my closest friends in the junior chorus here.'
